WATCH OFFICER (Operations)
Nature and Scope
Corporate Security (CS) is a division within Global Corporate Solutions (GCS). The Headquarters (HQ) Security Service is comprised of a guard force, ID office customer service representatives, fire marshals, and system officers. To meet the expanding needs of this program’s daily operations as well as coordinating resources during an emergency, the Headquarters Command Center (HQCC) serves as the focal point for command, control, communications, and preparedness.
The HQCC must be staffed 24/7/365 to meet the operational needs of the World Bank Group (WBG). The Watch Officer (Operational) works under the guidance and supervision of the Watch Commander and has responsibility for the below noted functions:
Monitor, operate, and control automated card access control systems, IP based closed circuit television, fire detection and alarm, land mobile radio, intercom, telecommunications, and other public safety systems used to support operational processes. Immediately report any degradation or interruption in service to systems/equipment.
Validate and prioritize, signals, messages, codes, and data; initiate response(s) to all incidents and emergencies resources in accordance with policies and procedures.
Receive, process, and disseminate requests for service and resources in accordance with policies and procedures.
Support daily operations of the Protective Services Unit (PSU) during movement within the D.C. Metropolitan area.
Discover, collect, analyze, and report safety and security information affecting client personnel, operations, and facilities through open source information, news, and social media.
Execute activities, tasks, and assume responsibilities as directed by the Watch Commander.
Documentation and Report Writing
Develop draft reports, alerts, and notifications, based on information, test results, requests for service, communications, and actions for submittal to the Watch Commander.
Conduct routine maintenance of governance document repository to identify necessary updates and make recommendations for improvement.
